Czech Miner's Parade Uniform Jacket
Heavy-duty jacket of the type worn by miners throughout Europe (apart from Britain!) for ceremonial purposes, this particular example coming from the Czech Republic and dating from around 1900. The jacket sports no less than 24 brass buttons each with the well-known mining symbol of a pair of crossed hammers with further brass hammers on the sleeves. It is in good condition (although a little faded in places) and is lined and h...as two inner pockets. The label reads "HORNIK Domy Modniho Odivani Libusin" (translating as something like "Miner Fashion Clothing House, Libusin". The image showing a miner wearing a similar uniform is from a German publication. POSTAGE Postage within the U.K. £6 (please wait for our invoice before paying)
