This doll is exceptional. She has a perfect bisque head that's marked on the back: 6. She's on her original French body thats in great condition and in its original finish. There is some missing paint on the upper legs but no loose or lifting paint. There is a paint chip at the back neck opening (photo # 10) and some normal expected wear at some of the joints. The body is well strung. This doll looks French. This is typical of Sonneburg dolls since they were made in... Germany to compete in the U.S. French market. Her very pale complexion indicates she was made around 1890 or earlier. She has heavy eyebrows, set glass eyes with lashes painted all around and an open shaded mouth with four set teeth. She wears an antique silk dress that's in surprisingly good condition considering its age. It's not original to this doll but fits her beautifully. Her underwear is made from antique fabrics. Her pressed styrofoam pate is lightly attached to the head and her replaced wig is simply pinned to it. It's an old wig, I don't know what it's made from. This is a hard to find beautiful doll worthy of any fine doll collection. The doll stand is not included. I ship out of the continental US with Global International Shipping only.
