This is an Edgefield Pitcher made by Bayhnam. It has a albany slip glaze that is multicolored depending on how you look at it.It has deep brown and green hues. An applied handle that is attached to low er body with a thumb print pushed deep into bottom. The body style gives you a date range in that this is a very early form from the Bayhnam Factory. The finish is gritty probably due to clay not being mixed well.This pitcher has some wear associated with its age. Only one small ch...ip on rim. Handle has a small crack at thumb print location. It looks like it was a manufactured defect. Overall a nice piece of Edgefield pottery. Pitchers are among the more rare pieces as they were used on a daily basis and survival rate wasn't very good. It stands 9 in. tall and is 5 1/2 in. In diameter. See card detailing provanance concerning this pitcher.
