This is a fantastic looking vintage ad EXTREMELY RARE ROLEX 14K yellow gold "SUPER OYSTER" PERPETUAL watch. It is in OUTSTANDING condition throughout with beautiful natural patina on the dial. It is a reference number 6084 and 756xxx serial number. This has the gorgeous original Rolex dial with "OFFICIALLY" in red, and comes on a vintage brown Rolex lizard leather strap and Rolex gold tone stainless steel buckle. It features an automatic Rolex movement and is running great. It is 100%... guaranteed authentic and accurate as written.
This collectible features the VERY rare "SUPER OYSTER" crown, which was made only 3 years.In addition, this model was the model known as "the Hillary". It is steeped in controversy. Rolex gave this red "OFFICIALLY" in stainless steel model to Sir Edmund Hillary before his famous ascent of Mount Everest in 1953. Depending on which version you believe, either he or his Nepalese Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay took the Rolex to the summit that day. Making it the first watch to summit Everest (by someone, Norgay reached first).
It is in unbelieveable condition, especially for a near 70 year old watch!! It did not come with box or paperwork, but is 100% guaranteed authentic and accurate as described. It is offered to you with NO RESERVE!
Movement: Rolex automatic movement. It is running well and from our limited observation it appears to be keeping good time. However it has not been professionally timed or serviced since we have had it. Therefore, it may not be keeping time according to the manufacturers strict guidelines of accuracy, and we make no representation that it is.Bracelet: Rolex vintage 19mm lizard leather strap, with vintage Rolex gold tone stainless steel buckle. It measures 9+ inches tip-to-tip and should fit most wrists.
Case: 14K yellow gold Rolex 34mm wide case (not including lugs or crown) with: 14K gold smooth bezel; VERY RARE 14K yellow gold signed Rolex "SUPER OYSTER" crown and solid caseback.
Crystal: Rolex vintage scratch resistant plastic crystal in great condition.
Dial: Rolex eggshell dial with: gold "arrowhead" markers; gold hour/minute hands; blued sweep second hand; OFFICIALLY in red and SWISS MADE at h6, which is period appropriate. Fantastic vintage look with gorgeous patina!!
