Antique Primitive Baltimore Maryland Blue decorated Crock with THREE CLOVERS. Attributed to the Shop of Peter Herrmann; features, clovers, three sided decoration, extra light gray clay, typical tight throw rings inside crock, light, early dimple salt glaze, flat rim, incised line below rim, rounded edges on the bottom of the crock when cut from the potters board. Like all Peter Herrmann crocks, HEAVY weight per size; especially these early pieces. 6 lbs. 9 oz.
...This amazing 1 Gallon Crock measures 9 1/2" Tall x 6 1/2" Base with a slightly sloped should. Another typical Peter Herrmann Design. The only fault is a very thin, tight hairline along the rim. It is has glaze in the tin line, so this probably occurred during manufacturing.
We're selling some of our antiques and collectibles to save the original 1742 house on our still working farm that's been in our family for over 240 years. It's been vacant since the 1930's. It's either renovate and repair now or it'll be gone.
