J Norton Bennington Vt, 2 Gal Jug with unusually Large Cobalt Blue Flourish - in Excellent condition. Wonderful, 14" tall heavily decorated, stoneware 2 Gallon JUG signed in blue wash, J Norton, Bennington Vt. This is the mark of Julius Norton. He worked with his cousin Edward Norton, and his son Luman who worked together in the family pottery from 1859-1861 (William Ketchum, American Stoneware pp 41-44)There is one tiny chip on rim and nothing else to report except near stunning perfe...ction.This will be double boxed and insured for sale price.
