For your consideration, this stunning Trosby Furniture Queen Anne Double Bonnet Secretary. Selling due to downsizing, hard to part with, and the amount of photos allowed on eBay just don't really do it justice, but here are the details: Beautiful Mahogany and measures 96 inches tall, 43 inches wide, 22 inches deep. Desk and hutch are separate pieces for ease of moving. Upper hutch has 26 small drawers, 2 "books" that are actually secret compartments, 6 vertical compartments for p...apers, files, etc. and two shelves, the upper one is adjustable. The top has a locking door with working key. Same key fits bottom and all locks of secret compartments. Lower desk section has 11 small drawers, larger locking door with Star pattern inlay, 8 compartments, 2 "books" for hidden items, leather writing surface with a sliding hidden compartment. Bottom section of desk also has two short and two long drawers in the bottom for holding bigger items (last pic). Slide-out "arms" hold the writing surface in place when open (last pick). Quality workmanship, 18th century design. This piece takes over 500 hours to make and is a fine example of English cabinetry and French polishing. Antiqued solid brass hardware. An exceptional piece that you won't find anywhere. Would make a statement in any fine home. Truly a once in a lifetime piece to own. This type of furniture will be passed down to other generations, and is made to last. Retailed for over $10, 000, but it won't fit into our new house. Please note this item is local pick-up.
