We are listing today a great Antique 19th C Stoneware Red Ware Southern Pottery 4 Gallon Alkaline Glaze Georgia Jar or Crock. This crock is in Excellent Condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Very slight manufactured roughness, you can refer to the pictures we guarantee 100% you will be more than happy with the exceptional condition, very clean. The crock measures 16 5/8" tall x 7 3/4" at the top rim x 11 3/4" wide x 8 1/2" at the base and weighs approximately 1...5lb 6oz. Wonderful hand tooled form with 1 slight ear handle and another loop handle, a hand incised 4 under the one handle. Great thin walled design, you can see and feel the potter wheel rings on both the inside and outside, the glaze coloring throughout is fantastic, wonderful alkaline green with great dripping and one area on the back with a great matte green glaze coloring, all firing variations. We believe this Southern Pottery Piece is from Georgia. A great Alkaline Crock it would make a great addition to anyone's collection or home. If you have any questions please email.
