Up for auction is a VERYRARE CHINESE MING DYNASTY CLOISONNE ENAMEL BRONZE BIRD FEEDER WATER POT BOWL. This bird feeder is part of an extraordinary estate collection of rarely found bird feeders. The feeders are from the collection of the late William Lipton, whom was well known as a scholarly object collector that specialized in collecting bird feeders. We are told some examples from this collection have been published.
Documented in the collection as being Ming dynasty period we believe this is an extremely rare example. One of two cloisonne examples being offered in this week sale the Only examples like this we have ever seen.
Condition: The bird feeder shows some wear to the gilding as should be found on a legitimate example of this early age. The feeder is otherwise in fine estate fresh unaltered original condition as seen. All items inspected under UV light to ensure no hidden damage.
Size: The bird feeder measures 1 1/2 inches tall, by 2 1/4 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep including bird cage mount.
