Though not required, we thought we would mention a few things that set these chairs apart from their more common Tell -City Phyfe contemporaries. STRUCTURALLY: These chairs are as stout and strong as the day they were created. Suitable for immediate use. AESTHETICALLY: Despite some pulls and runs in the needlepoint (see photos), the original seat fabric remains strong. Not dry-rotted as is common with this genre, these are ready for immediate utilization. Most importantly, RARITY: The ...'Three-Rose hand-carved seat-back' is extremely rare. There are none currently available for sale anywhere here on eBay or any other place on the web that we are aware of. We would be happy to learn if someone discovers otherwise. The pair of cream and pair of crimson needlepoint seats work so well together in a mix-n-match way, complimenting each other in a glaringly quaint and beautiful way. Nicks and scrapes here and there they crave a good oiling and could use a good cleaning prior to using.
Important to also mention that these chairs were Southern California kept, where the mild temperature, low humidity and moderate seasonal fluctuation tends to be much more forgiving to the woods, hardware and fabrics of antique and vintage furnitures compared to more weather-volatile regions of the United States.
DIMENSIONS:
SHIPPING: This set of four chairs will be available for local pick-up but will also ship to anywhere in the contiguous 48 United States (No service to Hawaii or Alaska). Cost to ship is $190. If shipped, it will require the buyer to travel to the Greyhound Terminal close to their home, (usually no further than 50 miles and often closer) to pick up. For an additional fee of between $55-$75 closed loop service directly to the buyer's home may be possible depending on Greyhound's GPX service to buyer's area. Closed-loop service should be ordered by the buyer soon after purchase if such service is available, and any questions concerning closed-loop service should be made prior to bidding or purchase.
IMPORTANT: Because of the exorbitant cost of shipping and handling, if this item is shipped there will be absolutely no provisions for return or refund. We strongly urge any out-of-town purchaser have a local furniture appraiser inspect and report prior to purchasing and shipping. We will make the item available for inspection prior to auction end.
