Old Paris Corbeille, or Fruit Basket, Neoclassical, ca. 1st half 19th century. A superb example of French Porcelain made during the first decades of the nineteenth century, this Corbeille features a reticulated basket section supported by winged white Neoclassical lions standing on a decorated plinth, which in turn is supported by gilded paw feet. The measurements are, height, 8.75" (approximately 22.5 mm), width at top, 9.25" (approximately 23.5 mm), and depth at top, 4.5" (approximat...ely 11mm). All damage is illustrated in the photographs. The gilded paw feet all have chips of various sizes at their tips. There is rubbing to the blue on sections of the plinth (as illustrated). The reticulated basket section appears to be free of cracks, chips, or repairs. The bolts holding the sections together are original and tight. Please note the condition report as sales are final.
