1998 Correct Craft Sport Nautique
Item History & Price
Relisting because the guy who won before never called and never showed. Please note that I do not deliver but this boat is worth your time.
I bought this boat & trailer from a friend of mine this May. He had it for 10-years and upgraded to a brand new one. I bought this boat from him for his trade-in value of $8k because I know this boat runs and operates like a new boat at a fraction of the price.
Unfortunately, when I brought it home, I could see my wife a...nd kids wanted a brand new boat, not a 1998.....So I placed an order for a new boat which was delayed.... I have been using this boat all summer and it is a beast.
The upholstery was replaced about 10-years a go but is faded but is in serviceable condition for many years. This boat is in great condition for a 1998 with about 700 well cared for hours (currently has 690 hours but I am still using it 10-15 hours per weekend). The 351/5.8L Ford GT40 engine is VERY powerful. Gelcoat is in good condition and was wrapped a few years ago. Overall this boat looks good and operates GREAT.
As for minor things you might notice when comparing to a new $150, 000 boat:I do not know how to use the ballast tanks but the boat has them. I tried turning the control knobs for the tanks but don't they are filling since the fill gauges don't seem to move. I spoke to my friend and he said he never used them since the boat puts out a nice wake without, and I agree. My kids love it without ballast tanks full, but I am sure these could be repaired if you wantedThe two (2) speedometers don't work. I do not know why there are 2 on the dash but there are, probably for accuracy during hard turns. I noticed that the plastic pieces that convey water pressure to the speedometers are not connected. Specifically, the hoses are broken off from the plastic piece that hangs in the water. This may be a simple fix and require simply new plastic pieces but I am not sure. The tachometer does not work but the hour meter does. I am not sure why and it never bothered me (or my friend when he had it).The cushions on the back could use recovering but that they are solid. They are just a bit faded and without the new vinyl feel. The prop and shaft was replaced at the end of last season by a Nautique dealer in Lake George. The trailer is in good condition but the brake actuator tongue does not work and the brake hose was disconnected for some reason a while ago. This can probably be repaired but I tow it with a 6-cylinder SUV with no problem. The Tires are 2-years old. You shouldn't have any problem taking this home at auction end. This boat is on the water and can be tested prior to auction close (test drive must be scheduled in advance since I don't live on the lake it is kept). Be advised that I have the boat listed locally and reserve the right to cancel the listing anytime. I will sell this to the highest bidder unless someone shows up with $8, 000 cash in hand (which is a huge bargain).
Please only bid or contact me if you are serious about buying and have cash in hand. If I think you are a scam you will be ignored. I have no time for nonsense and am hoping not to have to deal with a bidder that is not serous again. The last auction closed at $9, 099.99 (with an error in the listing showing the incorrect year) so I am hoping the second highest bidder is still interested.... The value is still there for sure. This is a great boat.
