For sale is a beautiful Antique Sioux (Lakota/ Dakota) Beaded Knife Sheath from circa 1890.The sheath is made of parfleche and native tanned hide with a twisted carrying thong.
The front of the sheath is decorated with tight beadwork, sinew sewn, in typical Sioux designs, executed in bead colors white, dark blue, medium green and rose-white-heart. Minor loss of beads, mainly at the mouth of the sheath. Tin cones are attached with wool thread, some cones are missing.
