Beautiful antique and rare bronze medal of the famous portuguese sculptor António Duarte. The medal was made in 1979,  celebrating 50 years of his work 1929-1979. António Duarte Silva Santos belongs to the 2nd generation of Portuguese modernist artists. He performed a "considerable work of stactary but also of portraitist", claiming to be one of the most important sculptors of his generation.
The medal has 8 cm (3.14 inches) diameter, and 5 mm (0.19 inches) thickness. We...ighs 194 grams (6, 867 oz). The condition is excellent.
