I AM ALSO LISTING OTHER ASSUITS SO PLEASE LOOK AT THEM AS WELL.This is a superb wide and heavy Antique Assuit shawl.It is black and silver and almost entirely covered with silver metal thread embroidery. It looks like a sheet of liquid silver. Stunning! This type of Assuit is much rarer to find than the li...ghter and narrower ones.It is all hand embroidered in silver metal thread, which is then hammered or rollered to flatten it.A fabulous shawl like this would have taken a very long time to make, it really is quite incredible work.I have taken photographs of each side of the shawl and in 2 halves, so you can see it better.MEASUREMENTS.It is 84 inches long (213.5 cm) and 39 inches wide (99 cm).It weighs 2 pounds and 14 ounces or 1300 grams. Heavy!CONDITION.There are some minor small areas of tarnish (See photos).There are 2 repairs (See photo). There are also about 6 very small repairs which I couldn’t capture with the camera and they will not show when worn but are mentioned for accuracy. A few single pieces of the silver are missing which is quite usual and very minor.
