Here's more info long but interesting....This genus was known first from Egyptian remains discovered in 1912 and described by German paleontologist Ernest Stromer in 1915. The original remains were destroyed in World War... II but additional material has come to light in recent years. It is unclear whether one or two species are represented in the fossils reported in the scientific literature. The best known species is Spinosaurus S. aegyptiacus from Egypt, although a potential second species, S. maroccanus, has been recovered from Morocco.
This "rock" was a living animal during the Late Cretaceous Era a CRAZY! 100 million years ago.
The tooth measures a nice! 4.9cm or 1 15/16" at its biggest. Please note that this fossil came out of the Earth in two or more pieces it was repaired.
