I have been selling amber fossils for over 10 years on eBay and do not sell fake amber only genuine material from now extinct plant sources not glass or plastic embedded with present day inclusions. This piece is genuine amberformed over millions of years of polymerization.Burmese (Burmite) amber is difficult to acquire and has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the... dinosaursand is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar(Burma).This is a fully polished piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber that contains a group of 8 flies from the Cretaceous Period. The piece has a pendant shape to it and could be fashioned into a fascinating piece of jewelry.Please see all the pictures. However, many amber sources or even specimens will not float in saltwater as their botanical (plant) composition as well as fossil inclusions are such that they are more dense than saltwater and so sink. I do not sell fake amber. My feedback should help demonstrate this.
