St. Michael the Archangel is the patron saint of police officers, soldiers, mariners, paramedics, and the ill. He vanquished the devil and, at the Last Judgment, he will weigh the souls of the departed for Christ.... The supreme enemy of Satan, St. Michael is generally recognized by the Church as “First among the Angels.” His feast day, once widely known as Michaelmas, is September 29th.
