Vintage late 1950´s Century CT-1 In-Circuit Condenser Tester.
Tested for basic operation (see photos), but not checked for all functions or calibration.Good, bright-as-new "eye" tube for bridge circuit balance indication (looks washed-out or dim in photos, but that´s from the camera flash).
Manual with good, fully readable schematic diagram included (pdf format on USB flash drive, courtesy of BAMA).
Includes power cord (USA standard, non-polarized plug).
Test leads shown ...in photos are NOT INCLUDED.
I checked a known good General Radio laboratory standard 0.1 uF capacitor and it gave a reading slightly below the "0" center mark of the FINE ADJ. pot (ideally, should read right on 0). I then added 20 kOhms of resistance in parallel with the capacitor to simulate leakage, and the eye tube balanced right around the "20K" mark, just as it should (second operating photo).
I have not attempted to verify the other 10 capacitance VALUE switch settings, nor tried to perform any in-circuit tests or electrolytic capacitor leak checks.
I have not opened up the case to check the 11 internal standard capacitors that are used in the measurements. For serious work, you should certainly do this, and replace any that are way off-spec or leaky. Given the age of this unit, and the improvements in capacitor technology over the years, there are almost sure to be at least a couple that should be replaced.
SHIPPING: I have shown $15 flat-rate to any USA postal address, but I MAY be able to shave a few dollars off that rate for addresses close to my home in NJ ... feel free to inquire if interested. Shipping outside the USA via Ebay´s Global Shipping Program only.
