More than a century ago, the first Royal Doulton collectors were captivated by the beautiful flow blue designs which are now known as Blue Children or Babes in the Woods.Vase is approx. 10" tall, approx. 3 1/2" at the widest point, approx. 2 3/8" at the base.Flow blue was used for several decorative effects by Royal Doulton artists, including the floral Corolian and Blue Iris ware...s dusted with gold highlights. The Flow Blue technique was also used to create the soft misty effect in the Blue Children ware.  Romantic sylvan scenes depict angelic girls and boys, immaculately dressed in frilled bonnets and smocks or velvet knickerbockers. The children enjoy picnics, gathering berries and flowers or searching for fairies.This Rare & Desirable Royal Doulton Blue Children Vase is in excellent used vintage condition. There is crazing that is consistant with age. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs that I can see.Please see all photos for condition.
