19th Century W Butcher Sheffield England? 3 Arm Plow Wood Plane with 1 cutter. The only marking on this plane is W Butcher Sheffield on the cutter. It's possible that Butcher only made the cutter and someone else handmade the plane, but I am not certain either way . The plane has some dark, scorched type marks on about a third of it. I don't know if this was the fact that it was exposed to some type of fire or heat or whether it is intentional to temper the plan...e as such. In any case, the black areas do not have any weakness and are not a problem to the planes working or operation. Condition is Used. It has some light gouges and scrapes on the wood in a few spots. The brass also has heavy tarnish and residue . It is approximately 10 X 12 X 7 inches. It is outfitted exactly as shown and what is photographed is what you will receive .
