Beautiful and incredibly rare Ancient Roman bronze carved statue, with a fantastic depiction of a perching military eagle symbol in superbly fine detail. Is on a socle base with four stub feet for hold. Has a wonderful preserved condition, with all embellished design elements clear and pre...sent. Purchased from a 1970's European Dutch BADA private registered ancient antiquity collection, where owner showed clear provenance and ownership history dating this piece to 100BC Roman period. Still in fantastic condition alongside no damage or repair, has very little wear and only minimal expected fading due to age.
