Preset, tiny Pentax Takumar 58mm f/2 lens, M42 mount, had the distinction of being the widest SLR film era Sonnar design. Beautiful rendering, and a fairly rare lens. 10 bladed aperture.This example is in very nice shape with very few surface marks or blemishes on the body. Rear element free of scratches, cleaning marks, or coating marks. There are no scratches, or cleaning marks on the front element, though there does seem to be one very small coating mark, as near as I can tell.... There is some internal dust, though this will not affect results.There is a small bend in the filter ring, though I have been able to attach filters myself. This may or may not pose a problem with some filters a buyer might own, I don't know. But the outer rim is not perfect as I have tried to show in the photos above the "japan" lettering. Anyone contemplating purchase should assume that they can't fit a filter, that way there will be no surprises, and a bonus if they find, as I have that filters might be fitted.Focusing action is very smooth, as is the preset aperture ring. The aperture ring itself is full stops and is pretty "notchy" in feel. The aperture ring on these lenses is very solid, but they don't feel like the easy, light setting motion of a new Leica Summilux. Works fine, though.Comes with original front lens cap, and aftermarket rear cap.
