Refurbished Working Rare Atari 810 Floppy Disk Drive Brown Box Rare DOS 1.0 Version, in original box with matching serial numbers (fairly low serial number), manual, and super rare DOS 1.0 software on 5.25" Floppy Disk.
TEST WORKING CLEAN
The rare drive was disassembled. The case has been retro-brited and looks almost like new. The face plate has been washed and cleaned. The circuit boards were blown dust free and ...all socketed ICs were reseated. The drive mechanism were blown dust free. The head was cleaned and the head travel rails were lightly lubricated. The drive has been upgrade to the C ROM but has larger head sized Phillips screw holding the assembly to the bottom case than what the later drives used. New screw covers were applied.
This is a fairly low number Atari 810 floppy disk drive #28990 and it matches the serial number on it older version brown shipping box. It come with an original Atari DOS 1.0 disk. I have only seen copies of the 1.0 disk and have never seen an original disk of version 1.0. This is a very rare version 1.0 disk. It also comes with a working, oldest version, wall plug (wall-wart) power supply. This power supply is not the "regular" style that sits on the floor.
The drive loads DOS 2.5s normally. It formats and writes DOS files as it should. It will not come with the original DOS 1.0 manual as this is a copied version. The box does have a lot of writing on it from the original owner that has nothing to do with Atari. An SIO cable is also included. You will be the second owner of this drive (excluding me). This is a really rare piece for a Atari collector.

eBay policies leave me with no choice but to mark each of my auctions with a “no return” policy. This is being done to protect me against returns such as (buyer’s remorse). After using the item for days and weeks, the buyer can submit a return and is not obligated to reimburse the seller for shipping charges and I have to pay for shipping charges back. Even though it is marked a “no return, “a buyer can still submit a return if the item was not as described or the item was damaged during shipping. Also, I do not need an eBay policy to do what is right and accept the item back if it wasn’t as described or damaged during shipping. Keep in mind, that I mainly sell vintage computers and vintage computer accessories. That said even though the box/item may not show damage, the internal mechanism may have been damaged or jarred from a rough truck and/or plane ride. I will work with ALL my customers to resolve the problem. Recently, I have had to take back items where the buyer didn’t check with mom/dad, husband/wife, or God prior to buying and did a return. eBay forced me to take the item back. Personally, I do not think that this is an acceptable way to return items. Many of the sellers on here are just trying to provide for their families and this kind of previous return is not fair to the seller. We are not Walmart or Costco that cannot absorb these financial damages. Again, I will work with all my costumers to ensure that they are happy with the item they purchased. Thank you for your patronage.
