AN EMBLEM OF INNOCENCE MB. 1805. A rare and interesting early 19th century Quaker School sampler signed in initials M.B. and the date 1805 within the central Medallion. as well as at the bottom. Further initials IB and HB, probably her parents can be found at the top.Medallion Samplers of this type were first developed at the Ackworth Quaker School in Yorkshire before being taken up buy other Schools both in this country and America.32 x 44 cm.A lot of condition issues stitch loss to h...er name holes and staining .
