Item History & Price
Refurbished Rare Working Sony MSX2+ Computer HB-F1XD Upgraded MSX MSX2
Clean Working Tested
This is a working MSX2+ computer. The computer has been upgraded to 128Kb of RAM. It has MSX Basic version 2.0 and Disk Basic version 1.0. The computer look to not be used much. It is very clean. The keyboard has been refurbished; disassembled and all contacts cleaned. All the keys appear to be working normally.&nbs...p; The sliders and all LEDs are working properly. The battery compartment looks new and unused.
The computer was disassembled. The motherboard was blown dust and dirt free using an air compressor. The floppy drive was inspected and the heads were cleaned. The floppy drive is a direct drive unit but is non-functional. I have tested several other working units and the system does try to access them but none were compatible with this computer.
The daughter card labeled EMC-NX0039 .. that sometimes have bad SMD capacitors look to be fine. One or two might be bad but that can also be the correct color. The traces all look good.
There are some marks around the case that look like they were caused from being moved a lot for storage. There is a section missing around the power switch. I used some easily removed hot glue to help hold the switch in place. The computer was tested with 100v source, not typical 110v-120v USA house voltage. It will work on higher voltage but unknown how long before trouble may arise. Testing was down with the composite video output. It look good and sharp on my Commodore monitor.

Selling as-is with no warranty or returns.
