Up for auction is a Rare Voigtlander Bessa-T 35mm Film Rangefinder Camera Body in Silver. The camera is in near mint condition. Everything works as it should. The light meter works. This auction is for the body and body cap only. There is no lens or any other accessories in this auction.
What makes this a Rare version of the Bessa-T is it's very low serial number. It's #00000066, making it among the first batch of cameras off the line on the first day of production in 2001.
The B...essa-T is an integrated Rangefinder camera that uses 35mm film. It features a Leica M mount, so nearly any M mount rangefinder lenses can be used. There is no viewfinder, so an external one is required. There are plenty of old Leica, Voigtlander and Kiev viewfinders available on eBay that can be used with this camera. It has a mechanical vertically-traveling Copal shutter with a light shield, so if you change lenses between shots, you won't lose and frames of film. Speeds range from 1 sec to 1/2000 sec. Flash synch is 1/125 sec.
This camera is like new and works as it should. There are some very minor scratches here and there that you have to look hard to see. It has had very little usage.
The Bessa-T rangefinder, the successor to the Bessa-L rangefinder, is a beautiful camera. A wonderful piece of engineering. And it takes great photos.
