Commodore MAX Machine Bundle - Omega Race, Radar Rat Race - Pre - C64 RARE
Item History & Price
For sale here is a vintage Commodore MAX Machine computer bundle. Including in the auction are the following items:Commodore MAX Machine computer (model MAX-04. Outputs NTSC RF and composite video signals, make sure your TV or monitor is compatible) ManualOriginal power supply (runs on Japanese 100V power, will require a step-down transformer for use in Australia and other 240V countries. Alternatively, standard Commodore 64 power supplies are directly compatible)3.5mm to RCA... audio/video cableOmega Race game cartridgeRadar Rat Race game cartridgeEverything has been tested and is in working order. The MAX itself is in great condition with very few noticeable marks (see photos) and I have modified it for composite video output via the 3.5mm headphone jack. This is a 1 wire mod that is easily reversible if the buyer wants to. Each key on the keyboard has been tested using a BASIC cartridge (not included) and is working correctly.
The Commodore MAX Machine was released in Japan in 1982 right before the Commodore 64. It shares a lot of the C64's DNA, using the same 6510 CPU, 6581 SID sound chip, 6526 CIA chip, and a very similar VIC-II video chip - in fact, it's possible to modify an NTSC VIC-II from a C64 for the MAX. It has no onboard ROM, meaning that powering on the computer without a cartridge in it will show a black screen. Very few of these computers still exist today, don't miss out on this rare opportunity!
Please see the listing's photos for details on the item's condition.
The items mentioned above are all that you will receive upon winning this auction. Nothing else is included. The monitor has been shown for testing purposes only and is not included - neither are any visible background objects. If you have any questions or would like to make an offer, please don't hesitate to message me!
Payment DetailsPayments must be made within 72 hours of the auction's end, except in the event of local pick-up. If you can't pay within 72 hours, please message me before bidding/buying so that we can negotiate a more suitable time-frame.
Shipping DetailsI ship worldwide! Your order will be posted to you in a sturdy box with plenty of packaging materials within 3 days of receiving payment. The package will be sent via Australia Post Standard, and once it has been sent, I will upload its tracking number to the listing. Due to the current global health situation, the postal services of the world are under heavy load, so delays are to be expected. Please be patient! Until things become reliable again, every package will be insured up to its full sale price.
