For your consideration is my absolute all time favorite pre/turn of the century, exquisite midwestern barn finds from my personal collection. An extremely rare, very difficult to find (especially with the original swivel mount), vintage/antique nautical/railway Weston Electrical Instrument Company D.C. Milliamperes Meter Model 24 Number #75090 - Wappler Electric Company (Made In USA), with patent dates 1888 - 1901. Description: Appears as though this one may have come from a ship or ra...ilway as Weston was historically known for building units for various shipping and transit lines. The unit rotates on it’s base and locks in place with working side wing screw. The base has two mounting holes for securing the meter to a platform/mounting surface. The toggle switch on the back flips up and down exactly as it should. Item is sold as is and as pictured. Item in photos is the exact item you will receive. On the front face is: WESTON ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENT CO. NEWARK , N.J. U.S.A. Under the glass is: Patent dates (see photos) at the top and on the bottom: WAPPLER ELECTRIC CO. INC. D. C. MILLIAMPERES. On the small metal tag: WESTON ELEC'L INST. CO. Newark, N.J., U.S.A. Some Patent Dates - (see photos) MODEL 24 No. 75050Measurements: Unit is approximately 22” in diameter (measured around rear mounting plate), Approximately 10” wide (from front to back), Front Faceplate itself is approximately 6 1/2” wide (from widest point) x 6 1/2” (from top to bottom of faceplate), unit with mount standing up measures approximately 10” tall (from top to base). Condition: Used. Item is over 100+ years old and has wear/scratches/marks/paint chips/gold color fading from wear on the front face trim/lettering etc etc..but is an absolutely magnificent piece in its own right. It is a fine example of expertly crafted, hand-built to last workmanship that simply rivals today’s efforts and is ready to add to your collection. Loads of old world charm and industrious character. A superb candidate for a resto project or simply to remain admired as is for another hundred years, and or perhaps incorporated as a movie prop/museum addition.
