A bronze model of Hercules shooting the Stymphalian Bird the nude figure with the bow in his left hand, his right having released the arrow. This bronze depicts the moment Hercules releases the arrow from his bow aimed at the Stymphalian bird. Uphue...s also produced a pendant bronze depicting Hercules victorious, with the deceased bird in his left hand. For an example of this version sold at auction see Christies, London, 27 July 2010 sold $5.500.00Joseph Uphues studied under R. Begas at the Berlin Academy, and won a silver medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1900. He produced numerous public monuments in Berlin.
