This clock is a very rare french empire 8 day red shell pendule de officiers carriage clock, it has a absolutely beautiful look to it with its stunning patina and high quality original movement with platform escapement and probably one of the rarest pendule de officiers clocks i have offered for sale. I have never seen a shell one before
Case is constructed from a good quality red shell veneer which has an absolutely beautiful patina which can only be acquired through age which really makes it stand out when on display. There are various embossed bronze mounts around the case all of which are in excellent condition and have there original ormolu finish which contrasts beautifully against the red shell including the pendule de officiers serpent carriage handle to top The clock is a rare French pendule de officers clock which has superb proportions with a hinged brass front and back door bezel THE DIAL It has a beautiful 3.75 inch diameter white porcelain dial with a blue roman numerals and original french filigree hands. The dial is protected by its original glazed brass bezel The dial is in excellent condition with no damage whatsoever THE MOVEMENT The clock has an original 8 day french timepiece movement with a high quality platform escapement, the movement is in full working order keeping good time as can be seen in the video above with a superb action to the platform escapement dating to around circa 1830 The mechanism comes with a 6 month return to base warranty for extra piece of mind, please see the terms and conditions below

If on the rare occasion you receive a clock that has a problem or does not work after initial set up and adjusting by a professional person then we reserve the right for you to return the mechanism for repair by myself
There will be no refunds if the mechanism needs repair. I reserve the right for the mechanism to be returned to me for repair
I offer a 6 months return to base warranty on all my mechanisms (unless stated not working in description)
In case of a problem after a professional has attempted to set the clock up you can return the mechanism back to me for repair
Please do not take the mechanism to a local clock maker/repairer as this will render the warranty void. All repairs needed to the mechanism will be carried out by myself and not by a 3rd party clock maker/repairer unless agreed by myself beforehand. please contact me in the first instance to arrange return of the mechanism for repair by myself
Shipping the mechanism back to me will be at the buyers cost and i will pay to get the mechanism back to you after repair
