This is a vintage, original, computer-programming book from Ralph Griswold in 1975.
From Wikipedia: Ralph E. Griswold (1934 – 2006) was a computer scientist known for his research into high-level programming languages and symbolic computation. His language credits include the string processing language SNOBOL, SL5, and Icon. Griswold attended Stanford University, then went to Bell Labs in 1962, where he studied ideas for non-numerical computation. He became the head of the Labs' Programming Research and Development department in 1967. In 1971, he was hired by the University of Arizona to be its first professor of computer science, subsequently organizing the department as its head.

Very Good Condition with Good Dustjacket [ Dustjacket has small closed tears along edges, spine-titles of dustjacket have a dampstain at top and have some fading (see pics), inner side of dustjacket has a few acid-free tape-repairs, book's covers have very light edge-wear, book's front endpaper has bookplate of former owner (Smithsonian, DC) ; otherwise, book is extremely clean, unmarked, tight with strong hinges, very solid, well-bound, and sharply printed ]
