Interesting vintage ChineseYixing Zisha ceramic teapot.Made and signed bymaster.The teapot is made ofceramic but mounted on what appears to be soapstone.The spout, the handle, the neck and the base are made of soapstone. There is a soapstone ringunderneath the spout.The body has inset of foursoapstone beads. A bronze look leaf and vine on the side of the pot.The lid has similardesign with a movable dragon and several soapstone beads. A bronze buddha asfinial on top of the lid. The lid ...is not the original lid. It has a relatedtheme but it doesn’t sit properly on the opening.Stamp of Master DuanLijuan (段丽娟) under the base. Stamp inside the lid also.Master Duan is a young Yixingmaster. Her work can be seen on the internet.This is an unusual teapot anddecorative. I don’t think it is functional.Measurement: 16.5 cm (L) x 10cm (W) x 15 cm (H)Weight: 346 gramsThe battery is there forsize comparison only. It has nothing to do with the item.I have a fairly largeYixing zisha teapot collection. They were mostly bought in China, Hong Kong andMacau from the 1960s to the 1990s. I have been gradually sending them back toAustralia over the 60 year period. The collection has become very large thatthey have to be stored in a self storage unit. Most are different with only afew repeats.'Most of my collection isone of a kind. I bought the items because I liked it for myself. They werenever intended to be resold. Each item has a story and when possible I handcarried in my luggage from all over the world to bring back to Australia. Someof the items have travelled a long way away and some of the items has been withme for 65 years. I am now retired and need to downsize. I will not be able tobuy a similar item again and definitely not able to sell it at the same price.If you buy an item from me it most likely is the only one I have.
