These are not a matched set from the same manufacturer but a nice set of 6 'bat wing' bits none-the-less. They include the following sizes:1 3/8", 1 1/4", 7/8", 7/16", 3/8", 5/16" and a 3/8" countersink bitThe makers include Tillotson-Sheffield (3ea.), illegible name (2ea.), and unmarked with name (2ea.). The set also includes an unmarked 3/8" countersink bit. Except for the 7/8" bit which is a bit corroded and etc...hed from rust, the others are relatively clean from rust and corrosion. Four of the bits and the counter sink have a 'notched' tang (or shank) with the two largest bits not being 'notched'.
These tools were found in my Great Grand Dad's wood working tool chest and are at least 100+ years old. He 'retired' as a Master cabinetmaker in 1920 after a 40 year career (1880-1920) in the craft. These are fine old tools from a by-gone era and are ready to go back to work or be displayed as part of your antique tool collection! Happy bidding!
