Designed by Adolph A. Weinman (who later designed the Walking Liberty Half Dollar and Mercury Dime), as one of his earliest commissions for a struck medal. The engravings and medals were struck by the U.S. mint in Philadelphia. This is the rarest of five medals designed by Weinman for the Fair, the others being the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Commemorative awards. These are some of the most popular and collectable of all exposition medals. Because the Exposition included the Olympic Games these medals are sometimes collected by collectors of Olympic Participation Medals (the official 1904 OPM is extremely rare and prohibitively expensive for most).Shipping is by tracked and fully insured mail (Royal Mail International Signed-For, or Special Delivery in the UK). All my medals are guaranteed genuine. Please see also my Olympic Participation and other sports medals in my eBay shop. If you purchase more than one of these you only need to pay the shipping costs for a single medal. We aim to dispatch within one working day of receiving your payment.
