CABINET PHOTOGRAPHER'S ADVERTISING CARD CAT W/ WET PLATE GLASS NEGATIVE CAMERA - POMEROY, KANSAS CITY, MO. - You are considering a fantastic trade card for a photographer named, "Pomeroy" out of Kansas City, Missouri from circa the 1880's. The humorous image contains a cat placing the glass plate into the backside of a wet plate style of camera. Although I must say, the simplicity to the camera and lens has an even earlier quality or that of a daguerreotype camera. The litho printing i...s absolutely topnotch. An outstanding trade card for any collector of early American advertising or 19th Century photography related ephemera. Good luck to all my clientele winning this very unusual feline operator.
CONDITION: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the images and as part of my description. The the imagery and lithography are both outstanding on this trade card. The corners and edges of the card are sharp, however there are two small areas of wear clearly seen in my first listing photo. A small set of tiny holes in the bottom left and a soft crease on the far right side, both do not distract from the central them. The backside has no text or notations. Very unusual subject matter makes this an image extremely desirable for collectors.
