I am Sanford Fox son in law and we were very close. This was found in his CIA personnel file after his death while preparing items for an auction of White House memorabilia at The New York Historical Society in 2002Sanford Fox worked for the Central Intelligence Agency from 1947 Inception (CIG before that from inception) before going to the White House. Due to his expertise in graphics and logo design we believe that he designed the CIA logo. He rose through ranks as design ...specialist/graphics artist to briefing the President with charts and graphs his department produced through the late 1950's. He and his department early in U-2 spy plane program analyzed photographs and drew maps etc. After joining the White House in 1959 he replaced his predecessor as head of the social entertainments office. Because of his expertise in analyzing spy plane photographs he was brought in by Kennedy during the Cuban missile crisis to confirm Russian nuclear weapons were in Cuba , even though he had left the CIA and was at the White House. In a well known photograph of that Executive Committee meeting he is the only unidentified person in the room This is the 1952 CIA employee handbook for release in July of that year. Its the first one with the CIA logo. 52 pages plus separate pay scale document.This comes from the Sanford Fox collection who headed the social office Kennedy-Ford
