Princess AlexandraA truly spectacular piece of 19th C Parian ware by W. T. Copeland, Stoke-on-Trent, England, c1862-1870. First issued by Crystal Palace Art Union in 1862 andre-issued for several years. The bust is of Princess Alexandra ofDenmark, and commemorates her marriage in 1863 to then Prince Edward; Prince ofWales. The piece is fully inscribed on the back shoulder plate: Copeland, Chrystal Palace Art Union. F M Miller was the original Sculptor. The bust sitson its original... Crystal Palace Art Union stand, and is in very good toexcellent condition. There are no chips or cracks, however, there exists anextremely tiny amount of pitting on the left edge of the back shoulder plate.This is a rare piece of Victorian Royal memorabilia and seldom found in suchexcellent condition. The Bust is 12” (32 cm) tall, and an early model indicated by thepresence of earrings which were excluded in later versions.Shop Carefully, Returns Not Accepted.
