For auction today is a vintage and collectible brass pocket/table 1971 Penny cigarette lighter, it measures approx. 2.5 ins tall and could be used as a pocket lighter or table lighter, maybe a little heavy for the pocket. The lighter is in very nice condition and very well and intricately made, possibly home made, for safety of posting it does not have fuel or flint. I am not sure of the date, the penny has a date of 1971 but it seems to late for a basic wheel and flint mechanis...m, the lighter base unscrews and that is where the fuel is administered, the flint wheel should pull out to put the flint in position but it seem stuck, the finial near the wheel unscrews to reveal the wick.A very nice lighter and collectible and maybe a lot older than the 1971 penny would suggest, the penny may have been added a lot later, not sure.
