Antique Chinese Embroidered Black Silk Robe Coat Coral/Peach Floral Flawed

This is a vintage Chinese robe or coat in 100% silk lined in a black jacquard silk. Primarily in a black silk satin, this garment is decorated with floral embroidery.Primarily in a black silk crepe, this garment is decorated with floral embroidery in soft pastel shades of coral, peach pink, light green and gray. Each of its cuffs are embellished with a flower design, embroidered in the forbidden stitch technique, in blues and white. Its neckline, sleeves, hem, and side slits are trimme...d with an offwhite satin silk ribbon and appliques, embroidered with a classic Asian design, in multicolor thread. In addition, its cuffs are in a contrasting blue silk, again embellished with intricate embroidery in multicolor and metallic thread. There is a very old label at the inside back neck that I think reads Handmade in China. (I suspect this was made for the tourist trade since this robe was originally purchased here in San Francisco some in the 1930s/40s.) This robe also has traditional styling with a mandarin collar, a four fabric knot button and loop frog front closure, and long sleeves. Across the chest measures 42 inches, the hips measure 44 inches, and it's 43 inches long from shoulder to hem with 11.5 inch deep side slits; sleeve length measures 29 inches from the nape of the neck to the cuff. This flawed robe is being sold as is; the stitching attaching mandarin collar to the robe is come loose, with the collar separating on the right hand side. Both the exterior and interior seam stitching is coming undone under the left arm (no damage to either silk fabric). The stitching on some of the appliques is also loose. There is also soiling. That said, both the exterior and lining silk fabric is in very good and strong condition. Here we continue with our virtual garage sale! Most everything I'll list will be gently worn (unless it's new); any flaws that I spot will be mentioned. Ours is a nonsmoking home, but we do have a dear tabby cat.
