Now Sarah was born 16.5.1792 ( parents Richard & Ann ) in Doncaster and married John Spurr on the 8.11.1809 a Butcher from Rotherham.
Now they had 8 children, notably one Charles Benjamin Spurr (1813-9...2) who emigrated to America becoming a Methodist Preacher and is buried in Tamaqua, Schuklkill, Pennsylvania. He married Harriet, and had five children. Other relatives emigrated to Australia, so now has the world covered.
The History of Brooklyn has The Brooklyn Primitive Methodist Church has existed since 1839. In church government it is entirely democratic, and all matters of prog and discipline are settled by the will of the people. The church is Situated in Bridge street, between Concord and Tillary streets. It is a wood frame building, the inside plain and nest, and the religious devotion are energetic and lively. All the seats in the church are free. An interesting Sunday school is also in operation.
