A fine and rare pair of antique French biscuit porcelain figures of Spanish musicians from the renowned studio of Jean Gille. Both with his raised monogram on the underside.They remind me of the work of Jose Cubero of Malaga.Jean Gille was one of the leading manufacturers of colored biscuit porcelain in the 19th century. The firm dates back to the 1830's and displayed at the 1851 Great Exhibition in London where it was awarded a Prize Medal.
