Very rare and very beautiful, ca1910’s Native American Nez Perce Indian Bead Decorated Dress or Tunic Yoke with matching beaded pockets. This outstanding Beaded Yoke measures approx. 21” wide across the shoulders and 10" long at the ends. The matching Pockets each measure approx 4” by 5”.
This wonderful Yoke and Pocket Set is made of a very heavy weight, semi-stiff canvas and all of the pieces are fully beaded in a beautiful, floral design using color...s of light blue, pea green, forest green, dark blue, greasy yellow, clear, and translucent red. Much of the flower elements of the beadwork is executed using Charlotte cut beads giving the pieces a bright, iridescent shine. Both the Pockets and the Yoke are edged and fringed with red, white, and blue bugle beads.
This wonderful Set of matching, Beaded Pockets and Yoke came to us from the Minnesota collection of Stanley B. Slocum.
The Beaded Yoke and pockets offered here are unconditionally guaranteed original and of the period. The Set is not a reproductions or modern recreations but original Nes Perce Beadwork crafted in the first quarter of the 20th century. The Beadwork comes with our “no questions asked” return privilege and our lifetime guarantee of authenticity. This very rare and beautiful, ca1910’s Nes Perce Yoke and Pockets Set is in excellent condition. The beadwork is beautiful and well preserved with no loss or damage to the floral panels. One Pocket and the Yoke have a small amount of loss to the bungle bead drops and the Yoke has lost a handful of red bungle beads at the border. All elements of the Yoke and the Pockets are original and there has been no repairs or restorations.
