For your consideration is an antique oak Hoosier cabinetmade by McDougall of Frankfort, Indiana. The original manufacturer’s labels areaffixed to the back panel, which is dated in pencil October 1918, and theoriginal McDougall name plate is affixed to the front. This three-section cabinetis in fine original condition; its golden oak finish has been carefullymaintained by the same owner for 45 years in our clean, pet-free, andsmoke-free home. The cabinet’s overal...l dimensions are height 68”, width 42”, depth 24 ¾” (base), and 12 ½” (top). Notably, it features a solid oak pull-out work counter, not the more common enameledmetal shelf, with a depth of 22 ½” inches fully extended. The cabinet is very sturdy and stable. All doors anddrawers, including the slatted drop-front door, open and close smoothly with nosqueaking, sticking, or sagging. All hardware is original. The original glasssugar canister and lid is securely mounted in its swivel ring. The uppercupboard doors contain their original glass panes, with decorative Arts andCrafts paper inserts. Inside the cupboard doors are three original McDougall cardstockinserts printed with charming grocery lists and care instructions. The following accessories are included: One mint-conditionRoll-Rite glass rolling pin from the 1930s and seven rare, unopened Squibb’sPure Spices tins, c. 1920, in unusually fine condition. (An identical Squibb’sPure Spices tin is pictured in the Smithsonian National Museum of AmericanHistory collection, but the museum’s tin appears to be in a rusted condition.) Thank you for looking!
