This pair is made of native tanned hide, sinew sewn, with rawhide soles and (remnants of) a fabric rim sewn with cotton thread. The uppers are beaded, sinew sewn in Northern Lakota (Hunkpapa?)/ Dakota (Yanktonais?) designs, using bead colors white, dark blue, medium green, corn yellow, and rose-white-heart. A collection number is written in ink on both soles. The bifurc...ated tongues are rubbed in with red ochre.
Size of each of these moccasins is circa 10" x 3 1/2". This pair shows clear signs of wear.
