Joanies is very excited to be offering a large four-day important family estate collection. This prominent family of Doctors resided in China between 1890-1960 and during this time acquired a vast array of rare and important objects that have never been offered until now. This includes a vast array of Asia...n art examples, fine jades, snuff bottles, bronzes, porcelain, important Archaic works, and more.
A number of the items being offered were scheduled to be sent to New Yorks’s high end auctions, but due to large sale delays this year the estate had asked us to offer All the items. A great and rare opportunity to acquire some investment-grade examples.
Over the past 20 years Joanies has hosted Hundreds of estate auctions, auctioning upwards of a hundred thousand fine estate items during this time. Up for auction is a VERY FINE & RARE 18THC CHINESE QIANLONG WHITE JADE LIDDED DRAGON HANDLED VASE. A very rarely found example from this great estate collection. The vase is fully guaranteed to be of the period. The unique stylization of this vases dragon handles and fu lion finial are of the Kangxi to mid Qianlong period, which we are confident this vases dates to. The vase is carved of a superb white jade that would also indicate Imperial workshop origins likely taking several months to have completed. The lid and vases interior are finely and deeply carved throughout. We have also included images with other fine jades taken in daylight being offered from the collection for color comparison so one can see the beautiful white color of this example.
We have offered many hundred very fine antique jades over the past 15 years hosting estate auctions online. In upwards of 40 years searching for such treasures we have personally never found or ever offered another vase like this. Condition: The vase is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs of any kind. The lid fits perfectly without variations or movement. The vase has been UV light inspected that reveals no hidden damage.
Size: The vase measures 4 3/8 inches tall by 2 inches wide and 7/8s of an inch thick. The vase including stand measures 5 1/2 inches wide. The vase itself weighs 106 grams.
