This is a Japanese Meiji to WWll Naval officer`s sword wakizashi in kyugunto mountings. The blade is unsigned, shinogi-zukuri shape, muromachi period ca.1550 era made family blade. The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches but no rust, no stain and in good condition. The temper line is wavy gunome temper and has deep temper at the point. Forging grain is itame hada, no op...ening, and no flaws. There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is metal scabbard, shows aged surface oxidations, minor dents but no deep rust, no bend and in good condition. The handle is tight fit with Naval cherry flower mon on grip end, brass wire wrapping is no cut, no loose also in good condition. It measures 22+1/8" cutting edge, 1+1/16" width, 5.5 mm thickness at the notch and 31" in mountings. Shipping is $20 priority in U.S. No international shipping.
