Very rare and stunningly beautiful, ca1900 Native American Anishinaabe / Ojibwa Indian Bead Decorated Bandolier Bag. This outstanding turn of the 20th century Ojibwa Bandolier / Shoulder Bag measures approx. 45” long overall (as depicted in the initial image below) and bag portion measures 15” by 23”. This outstanding Bandolier Bag features hand spot stitched bead decoration in stunningly beautiful floral designs on the front surface of the Bag and on the shoulder strap.
...; This outstanding, Ojibwa Bead Decorated Bandolier Bag is thread sewn by hand with spot stitched beadwork. The front surface of the Bag is made of a soft, black velvet material trimmed with red wool trade cloth and bordered with a multi-colored silk ribbon binding. The surface of the strap is solid, hand stitched beadwork trimmed with red wool trade cloth while the back of the bag and strap feature a polished cotton fabric. The extensive, floral bead decoration is executed using an eye-dazzling array of multiple colored beads including some that are translucent and others that are Charolette cut creating a stunningly beautiful design.

This very rare and beautiful, ca1900 Anishinaabe / Ojibwa Indian Bead Decorated Bandolier Bag is in very good to excellent condition and displays beautifully. The fabric substrate is very well preserved with no significant damage and no repair of any kind. There are some small and scattered moth holes to the thin, red wool trade cloth trim as can be seen in the scans below. The bead decoration is stunningly beautiful and generally well preserved with scattered small amounts of bead loss. The bugle beaded fringe is intact and the wool tuft drops are well preserved. All elements of the Bag are original and there has been other no repairs or restorations – it is 100% original and stunningly beautiful.
