TinyFramed Antique Alphabet Sampler English* Dated 1838 Thiswonderful miniature sampler has crossstitched letters and numbers insilk on a very fine linen (52 threads to the inch). It has upper andlower case alphabets, the numbers, the date 1838 and the word INDUSTRY.The letters and borders arestitched over two threads. The edges were bound in red silk ribbon andyou can still see traces of it. It's in a little wood frame, underglass, and the back has a lab...el from the Boots Picture FramingDepartment. The conditionis excellent. The only damageI can see is a small break in the linen in the lower left corner. Allof the stitching is intact. The framemeasures 3 5/8" x 3 5/8" and it wouldbe a wonderful addition to a small sampler collection. This was theyear of Queen Victoria's coronation.
