This Stanley sweetheart plane cutter is in Excellent condition. There is plenty of life left at 6-7/8" long. It is the 3rd sweetheart trademark Stanley used from 1922 to 1935. There is no rust or pitting, bends or kinks. It will fit a No. 4 1/2, No. 6, and No. 7 at 2 3/8" wide. The bevel is nice, but one edge of the bevel is rounded off so it will need to be re-sharpened. One "imper...fection" is a "2" stamped over the logo - probably a previous owner's identifying mark. A nice original replacement for a sweetheart plane.

This is not necessarily an industry standard for grading, and grading vocabulary will vary from collector to collector since there is some subjectivity involved (i.e. "mint" vs. "near mint"). For these reasons, I will also try to list a description of these grades in each listing in order to clarify the grade given to each item. Please refer to the details below and read the "condition" portion of this listing for the condition grading assigned to this item.
MINT: 100% of original finish remaining. No signs of wear or rust - probably never used. No problems or issues.
EXCELLENT: 95-99% of original finish remaining. Very slight wear with no rust. No problems or issues.
GOOD PLUS: 85-95% of original finish remaining. Used but well maintained. Scuffs, light wear, very little rust.
GOOD: 65-85% of original finish remaining. Moderate wear and/or rust. Minor deficiencies - owner's initials, nicks, etc.
GOOD MINUS: 50-65% of original finish remaining. Has seen hard use, but remains serviceable. Scratches, nicks, dents, cracks, chips, improper replacement parts.
FAIR: 25-50% of original finish remaining. Heavy wear and rust. Some parts are broken, missing, or improper - serious flaws.
POOR: 0-25% of original finish remaining. Pitted, abused, heavily worn. Serious damage and missing major parts.
